CONGREGATION’S PROFILE

Andrew Murray was founded in 1966 as an English speaking congregation with the aim of including people who were not of Afrikaans background into the life and ministry of the Dutch Reformed Church.

Through the years, the faith community has developed into a spiritual home and family for a large variety of people, from seekers to displaced individuals, for those who live alone and those with families of different kinds, for people with a variety of physical and other needs.

Andrew Murray has a close relationship with Echo Youth Development, sharing part of the church property with us. We also value close cooperation with other faith communities in the area.

The church and manse are located in Orchards, an established suburb of Johannesburg, just north of the CBD, close to excellent schools and universities.

At present, the congregation is made up of around 300 confessing members and 60 members under 18.

Andrew Murray is part of the Presbytery of Johannesburg.
