Vacancy: Senior social worker

Closing date: 30 November 2016.

Education Required:

• Grade 12 qualification
• Degree in Social Work
• Knowledge of the Children’s Act and justice system

Experience Required:

• At least five year’s experience in Social Work Methods
• Knowledge of and practical experience implementing legislation
• Extensive range of therapeutic skills
• Registration with the HPCNA
• Bilingual – must be able to speak, read and write Afrikaans and English

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Implement therapeutic services to youth and families
• Report writing
• Formulate Care Plans and Individual Development Plans

Personality, Attributes and Abilities of the Applicant:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Preferably Namibian Citizenship
• Work both independendently and as an active team member
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences
• Maintain professional demeanor while excercising judgement and discretion in work
• Commitment to the mission, values and goals of the organisation

Salary Scale: PAM Scales.
